The Hampshire Companies Host State and Local Officials at Groundbreaking Ceremony for The Madison Professional Center in Madison, N.J. on January 6, 2010

Madison, N.J.

The Hampshire Companies, a full-service, private real estate investment firm with equity in assets valued at over $2 billion, held a groundbreaking ceremony on January 6, 2010, at The Madison Professional Center located at 345 Main Street in Madison, N.J. Many state and local officials were in attendance including Mayor Mary-Anna Holden, Congressman Rodney P. Frelinghuysen, and Senator Tom Kean who all spoke in support of the project.

Mayor Holden credited the project as, “being the jump start for the east end of town to make it more pedestrian friendly.” She added, “The Madison Professional Center is the spark needed to revitalize the east side of town.”

Congressman Frelinghuysen spoke about the economy and was pleased that, “people were willing to make investments and take risks.” Senator Kean added, “The Madison Professional Center represents future opportunity and helps to provide hope and optimism.”

Hampshire has demolished the former 13,110-square-foot Mayflower warehouse building and is replacing it with a new 20,000-square-foot two-story, state-of-the-art professional center. Slated for completion in June 2010, the building targets primarily medical offices and will be suitable for single or multi-tenant users.

“We are pleased and proud to be developing this project and to be a part of Madison’s east end revitalization,” said Todd Anderson, a Principal of The Hampshire Companies. “We continue to be grateful for the tremendous amount of support that we have received. We are thankful to Mayor Holden and the town of Madison for all of its continued support as well as to Congressman Frelinghuysen and Senator Kean for joining us for this milestone event. Hampshire looks forward to providing Morris County and the medical community with a premier, state-of-the-art medical office facility in a prestigious and convenient location.”

In addition to Madison business leaders and residents, Assemblyman Jon Bramnick, Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, Councilwoman Astri Baillie, Councilwoman Jeanne Tsukamoto, Councilman Vincent Esposito, and Councilman Sam Cerciello also attended the groundbreaking event.

345 Main Street is strategically located in the suburban area between Madison and Chatham providing close proximity to Morristown Memorial Hospital, making it ideal for medical office users. In addition to a variety of retail locations in the area, the building also offers quick access to major highways including I-78, The Garden State Parkway, and Routes 124 and 24 and is easily accessible by mass transit.

Hampshire acquired the building in 2008. For leasing information please contact Jeff Heller and Peter Hedley of CB Richard Ellis.
