The Hampshire Companies, a full-service, private real estate investment firm with equity in assets valued at more than $2.5 billion, has announced that Haley Varner has joined the company in the role of Portfolio Manager.
As Portfolio Manager, Varner will be responsible for maximizing the performance of the value –add oriented real estate funds by executing long-range fund and asset management strategies. She will lead and develop the portfolio and asset teams to drive operating margins for respective funds by overseeing critical value-add asset functions including but not limited to lease, capital plans, (re)financing and dispositions.
Most recently Varner was a Manager with Ernst & Young in the Transaction Real Estate Group where she served as an advisor to investors and lenders on real estate transaction and portfolio operations optimization strategies. She also held management positions at Alvarez and Marsal’s Real Estate Advisory Services and Eastdil Secured where she worked as a Financial Analyst and underwrote and marketed more than $3.2 billion of commercial assets for all major product classes.

Varner earned a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Certificate in Finance from Georgia Institute of Technology. Varner is a member of the Women’s Leadership Council for the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and the U.S. Equestrian Eventing Association. She resides in Tewksbury, New Jersey.
