The Hampshire Companies, a full service, private real estate investment firm, announces the promotion of John Durso to Head of Development. In his new role, Durso will oversee Hampshire’s development activity in the industrial, residential, office, self-storage and retail sectors.
Since joining Hampshire in 2003, Durso has held numerous roles overseeing the firm’s property management, transactional management, asset management, and portfolio management services. In each of these roles, Durso has gained a depth of knowledge surrounding the development process that has allowed him to successfully determine the most effective strategies to maximize value in a wide range of development projects. Recently, Durso oversaw the construction of Fox Rothschild’s new headquarters at 49 Market Street in Morristown, N.J. Durso will leverage his diverse experience at Hampshire to streamline the firm’s robust national development pipeline and continue to create efficiencies and maximize value in each project the company pursues.

Durso is a graduate of James Madison University. While attending James Madison University he competed as part of their NCAA Division 1 wrestling program. Durso has also competed internationally as a representative of the US National Cycling Team.
